Please note that this site is a side project and we may not always have it ideally organized.  Please bear with us ... playing our part in consumer protection is important to us, but we have our primary business to run and our own lives to live.  :^}

Welcome!

Formerly run by Silver Star Sites, we took on this site to continue our part of consumer education and protection.  We ourselves dealt personally with William Franklin and lost most of our deposit on services that were never received in full.  We also can attest to a verifiable pattern of lies regarding interruption of services and other matters.

To see the original site, which ran actively over the first half of 2005 and contains 34+ stories of fraud, archived as a PDF, click HERE.

Original Note: Why This Site Exists
by Bob Hubbard, Silver Star Web Designs

In November 2004 we were contacted by William Franklin. He offered us managed dedicated servers at a great price. Due in part to his dealings with one of our clients at that time, as well as a past business relationship we had with a former partner of his, we decided to give his service a chance.

In good faith, we sent him via Western Union a deposit towards dedicated services in the amount of $100. He told us he would be crediting us also the $16 WU transfer fee, and that he would handle all the setup and account transfers. The relationship went bad fast, and over 2 months of attempts to obtain a refund were constantly denied.

Our research turned up numerous victims of his actions. This site was put up to bring the fraudulant actions of this individual, and his various aliases to light so that others will avoid going through what we have. We have links to resources, other stories, and where to complain to try and find justice. You can read the full details of our dealings with Mr. Franklin on the "Tales of Fraud" page.

Now, I was asked why I did this site, with the suggestion that I am somehow "obsessed" with Mr. Franklin. That is not true. I am a small business owner, who is tired of finding all of these horror stories. I constantly run into prospective clients who have been burned by these fly-by-night scam artists. These crooks make it hard for us honest individuals and companies to do business. When I was just starting out, I read the infamous "True Hosting" saga about "Peter Francis Macrae", and promised myself that I would never do business that way.

We will keep this domain active so that the victims and potential victims of this con artist have a central point of reference. If you have been a victim of William Franklin, are a past customer or even a current one, we would love to hear from you.

For the full story and resolution of our own interactions with Mr. Franklin, please see "Bob" on the Tales Page.

NOTE: This domain and it's contents are NOT for sale.
While no longer actively involved in this site, Mr. Hubbard continues to hear from those victimized by William and refers them to this site.

LEGAL NOTICE: William Franklin has been telling people he is working to shut this site down, or wanting to tell his side of the story, which we would post if we had anything factual from him. But this is news to us, as there have been no communications, complaints, lawyers, anything, except a harassing phone call and retaliatory site. Please William, sue us. We'd love to meet you in court. In fact, when we find your real address, we may save you the trouble.
